" PROMOSAC
", the company for the promotion of the paper sack, began life as
the "centre for coordination and liaison of producers of large
capacity paper sacks" (C.C.L.). When it was set up in 1958, its
share capital was owned by the principal manufacturers of paper sacks,
mainly the French paper-making companies.
The amount of
refuse and all types of urban waste increased rapidly. And considerable
technical progress was being made in packing in general, and the field
of non-returnable packaging in particular. For these reasons, the
C.C.L. became a limited company in 1961 with the name "PROMOSAC",
with the purpose of promoting disposable packaging for waste.
Having been part
of the SAINT GOBAIN and GASCOGNE groups, (who held 78% and 22% respectively
of its capital) for many years, it is now owned by the limited company,
POLYGER.
Over the years,
Promosac has acquired considerable experience in
the manufacture and distribution of various different products, which
are divided into 4 families:
- Products designed for the collection and packaging of waste
- Products designed to convey the image
of the company
- Products in the hygiene
range
- Industrial and techniques
products
It has acquired
the exclusive distribution of the products made by the French company
S.M.S. (49), which is part of the TRIOPLAST group. This factory is
ISO 9001 certified.
At the beginning
of 2003, Promosac obtained certification quality
according to reference frames' NF EN ISO 9001 v 2000, NF EN
ISO 13485 v 2003.
Promosac
produces a volume of around 10,000 tonnes a year, half of which passes
through its MORANGIS (91) site in France, designed to store up to
2.500 pallets of finished products.
